It seems that Spring is really here. I just got back from Naples, FL where the weather is in the 80's. Daffodils are still blooming in the yard and the Crocus are spent. Violets, Pansies, Phlox and Lenten Roses are blooming. Day Lilies are out of the ground. Most of all, weeds are flourishing. Need to spend time or it will be a mess.
Red Bud and Pear trees are flowering all around time. Ann said that some Cherries have flowered but not the one on Main St.
Time to be moving on. This early retirement is over.

Vote the Bums out
I think we should just vote out all the incumbent politicians until they solve this shit that we find ourselves in by cooperating instead of spinning opinion about who takes the credit or blame for it.
Yard is in ready for winter mode. a few pansies & violets are flowered. planted about 2 dozen. Snapdragon living a few perrenials. Lots of mud in the soil. Planted grass in shade. Germination ??? We'll see

June 3
Corieopsis everywhere in the front and hot garden. The Dahlias are purple. They have done well where I put them. I've planted some bleeding heart and 3 elephant ears that I hope will come out soon.
Black eye susans, Yellow and orange day lillies. whatever those red leaves and spiky flowers plant. Most of the weeds I hate are pulled and the grass looks good. Spent a few hours with Charlie at the eye doctors office.

Petri Dish
Today the Cherry trees are stating to blossom.
Ann planted the window boxes on the porch.
Crocus and tiny irises are withered.
Weeding mostly.
Planted some violets and pansies.
Planted Brussel Sprouts, Parsley, Thyme and Oregano
Top turned the compost and had lots of worms. Much of the material is leaves.
Started project to demolish old parking area. Creosote railway logs and blue stone. There is some slope and we want to make a patio there.

First Flowers
I arrived home from a trip into the Adirondacks with the guys. A group of families where we have thirty+ years of messing with each other. No spring there yet. We did some gentlemanly camping at a small cabin . Propane heat and lights. Very cushy. Good food, good eats and good company.
Family was also visited. Stayed with Pam for two days.Spent a day with sisters and families. Then stayed with Steve the next night. What could be better.
Crocus blooms have already started to brown. Dafodils and this short Iris that was planted. The jacobs plant under the Crepe Myrtle is flowering. Enough letuce to make a salad.
